This bank holiday weekend, the Great Northern Warehouse will once again burst into colour with the return of Proud Fest, and everyone’s invited!
Created with LGBT+ families and their allies in mind, Proud Fest is all about fun, freedom and feeling part of Manchester’s Pride celebrations in an accessible, inclusive and family-friendly way. Running throughout the day on Saturday 23rd August, visitors can enjoy a completely FREE celebration packed with laughter, music, dancing and plenty of chances to get creative.
On the main stage, your fabulous hosts Aida H Dee and Sarah Gosney-Hughes will keep the energy high with a stacked line-up of live music, circus performers, drag story time, dance workshops and more. Whether you’re grooving along with Ghetto Fabulous or catching some circus magic, there’ll be something to delight guests of all ages and tastes.
Across the Warehouse and Amphitheatre, you’ll find bouncy castles, a giant sandpit with family-friendly beats, arts and crafts, market stalls, fairground games and soft play zones. On top of that, there’ll even be a Pride-themed Mickey and Minnie who will be making special appearances for hugs, high-fives and photos!
For parents and carers, there’ll be information stalls, picnic spots, hydration stations and chill-out areas, so you can relax while the kids explore.
Proud Fest, run in partnership with Proud 2 b Parents, was created in response to the community’s call for a space where families could celebrate Pride together. It’s warm, it’s welcoming, and it’s free – so grab your glitter, pack a picnic and stop by for a day of family fun and fabulousness.
